Job Description
  • Establish relationships across the organization to understand, interpret and document the bank's data flows, in line with the CDO’s methodology and framework.
  • Work with Business and IT SMEs to define the bank's data, in line with our enterprise wide 'data language' and schema.
  • Identify and document key controls that exist along data flows that maintain the integrity of the data.
  • Continuously collaborate with other functional teams to ensure a comprehensive 'front to back' picture is completed, creating a source to target map.
  • Present back findings to data solutions management, both 1:1 and through existing governance forums, to confirm understanding and obtain ratification of the above activities.
  • Responsible for embedding a data management culture into the organization by advocating the CDO’s strategy and proactively challenging the way the firm works with data.
  • Conduct data feed change projects, and data feed re-implementation projects of basic to medium complexity.
  • Manage and perform triage for data feed issues and inquiries.
  • Act as liaison for inbound and outbound data feed onboarding, both for new and existing feeds of basic to moderate complexity. This includes:
  • Participate in customer conversations on feed specifications and set expectations for feed onboarding process
  • Meet customer requirements utilizing the firm’s strategic data assets
  • Perform business testing on files and providing feedback to customer
  • Coordinate with internal resources in business and IT to ensure timely delivery
Job Requirement
Minimum Requirements
  • Financial services background (experience working with different lines of businesses including but not limited to asset servicing, corporate trust, treasury services, investment management and broker dealer business)
  • Constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities and writing specifications
  • Running SQL queries
  • Experience using JIRA to track user stories and log issues
  • Data analysis and compiling reports
  • Creating business requirements
  • Translating business requirements to functional requirements
  • Excellent documentation skills (meeting minutes, status updates, current and target state documentation)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to multiple stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics/statistics or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 5-7 years of total work experience preferred.
  • Experience preferred in serving in a data governance role within financial services.
  • Experience with database tools such as DBVisualizer, SQL Developer, etc.
  • Experience with analytics and reporting (e.g. ThoughtSpot, Tableau or Qlik)
  • Financial Products expertise (Derivatives, FX, Fixed Income, Equities, Loans, Collateral)
