Media Research Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION
Our Research Analyst leverages ratings, analytics, social and viewership research data to create impactful analyses,  as well as sales and Upfront presentations. They possess a strong attention to detail and can showcase key metrics in a creative way.  It is imperative our Researchers successfully interact and collaborate with several channel departments.  

Responsibilities:
  • Work with all aspects of audience and viewership research reporting on the KPI's for the linear Channel, Digital platforms and  OTT
  • Drive consulting assignments from ideation stage requiring thorough understanding of client’s business and challenges, deriving actionable insights to orchestrating CXO level pitches
  • Provide Research services to all departments including: Programming, Production, Digital, Social, Affiliate Relations, Ad Sales, Marketing and Corporate
  • Develop insights and uncover trends within the viewing of programs for a specific network or across networks.
  • Assist in all phases of a marketing/media analytics engagement including scoping of projects, execution of analysis, management of projects and presentation of results
  • Identify, synthesize and provide relevant, actionable insights and recommendations across the consumer, competitive, industry and media landscape that drive effective and efficient cross-media strategies, across all aspects of the planning cycle from target development all the way to media optimization and measurement Utilizes syndicated and custom research databases to effectively position the value proposition of our client’s linear & digital properties for advertisers
  • Provide support for presentations, project reports, and project management  Respond to ad hoc and short turn around requests for data and metrics from across the organization and proactively disseminate insights
  •  Utilize syndicated research tools to develop viewer profiles so key stakeholders have a deeper understanding of the channel viewer 
  • Give day to day support to client research team by providing daily/weekly/tournament specific ratings reports, competitive sports network reporting, as well as digital and social media dashboards
  • Help the solutions team to create sales materials and collaterals for the M&E service offerings
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in media research, especially in media, cable and/or broadcast network research and/or digital measurement
  • Required proficiency in Nielsen related software including: NPower, Scarborough, Ad Intel and Star Trak, and prior exposure to Gfk MRI, Ipsos Affluent Study or other similar data providers
  • Knowledge of sports, including the ability to formulate content ideas around past events and in anticipation of upcoming events on the tournament calendars
  • Experience with digital analytics (Google Analytics, YouTubeTV Analytics, Adobe Analytics etc.) required
  • Ability to convey research findings in ''non-research'' language to internal partners
  • Proficient with syndicated media research and analytics tools: comScore, Nielsen, Kantar, among other
  • Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Television, Communications, Statistics, or related experience required
  • Possesses strong time management, organizational and project management skills
  • Must have strong work ethic, positive attitude and self-starter qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and power point skills
